Shocking photos from a Manhattan hospital show nurses resorting to wearing trash bags as personal protective gear supplies dwindled. The same hospital has lost one nurse to the Coronavirus.

Nurses at Mount Sinai West hospital in New York hospital ran short on personal protective gear and many turned to cloaking themselves in trash bags for protection. “We were told, ‘You get one for the entire time until this is over’” one nurse told The New York Post. “We had to reuse our masks, gowns and the [face] shield.”

Meanwhile, staffers at the Manhattan hospital tied the lack of basic supplies there to the death of assistant nursing manager Kious Kelly, who tested positive for coronavirus about two weeks ago.
