Diego, an actor in LA, is excited to join the actors’ union because it brings legitimacy to his work and security to his life. Diego sees his union as a privilege, but it’s also a right that everyone deserves.
This year I earned the privilege to join my union! For many joining the union is a rite of passage, it’s not just that for me. Joining means that now I will always be treated and appreciated the way we all deserve to be. I spent many years working non-union, and was taken advantage of time and time and again. Now that I’m part of the union, my wages and my work is protected by a group that is created by people like me to protect and serve people like me. Couldn’t be more blessed!
