My parents are both immigrants from Romania and for many years growing up, we struggled a lot with money. My father had a job as an electrician years back where his wages and benefits were lacking. He then moved under a union and instantly, his pay increased, his benefits improved and insurance became much more feasible for a family of 4 that he was supporting. I have felt the impact of my father working for a union directly and have been so grateful for any and all support that my family received indirectly by having a union fight for their employees.
…It’s imperative for laborers to understand how unions can benefit them as they offer security and ensure that employees across the board are receiving fair treatment in the workforce.
