“After working for 10 years she noticed that the pay was not increasing, the company lacked good equipment and the treatment of her co-workers was less than adequate for entry level positions at the hospital. My mother, being the woman that she is, was able to advocate, research and involve the UNION at the hospital. Her co-workers negotiated better pay, better insurance & retirement packages, new equipment and lastly, they were able to create more sound policies regarding wrongful terminations.
My mother’s activism has resulted in more working class protections and better treatment and it’s made a huge difference in many communities. For those reasons I am a big supporter of the Union.”
