“Although I’m not a part of a union, knowing this history makes me more interested in the ways I can support them!”
“There is a deep connection between racial justice and economic justice. For many Black American workers, this connection has historically been forged through strong unions.”

The Deep Connection
Black workers have always known about the deep connection between racial justice and economic justice. Because of the injustice throughout time, Black people have had a hard time earning fair wages and being respected in the workplace. This issue would cause an ever-increasing gap between them and those who were more respected, making it harder for Black people to gain growth opportunities. Unions have always supported Black public service workers, ensuring that they earn fair wages and have opportunities for economic advancement. Even though Breonna is not a part of a union, she still believes in knowing its history and what they have done for workers. Breonna urges others to learn more about unions and encourages them to find ways to support them.
