Rachel Millan from Missouri is on her way to becoming an OB nurse, so the plights of frontline workers – including firefighter Mario Araujo – during the coronavirus pandemic are close to her heart.

I am thankful for all of you healthcare heroes who are making a difference to the health and safety of all patients you see in a day and all of the fallen heroes who are taking a part in this battle of COVID-19. All of their hard work is definitely not overlooked, and it is greatly valued.

In today’s post I want to talk about a fallen hero, Mario Araujo, which tragically just like many others did not win the fight against COVID-19. Araujo served his city and nation as a firefighter for the Chicago Fire Department since October 2003. CFD firefighters put themselves in harms way without hesitation and put other people’s lives before theirs. And, with hearing these news I ask everyone to extend their prayers for firefighter Mario Araujo, his colleagues, and his family members who are enduring this tragic loss.

During these tough times, firefighters, paramedics and police officers have been in the front line of this pandemic, exposing themselves to the public! But it is very important to remember that we are all in this together, and we can all help each other by just staying at home and protecting each other.
